We have a diverse group of builders. Some are relatively new to the craft, while others have decades of experience. We build across a variety of genres, including ships, cars and trucks, aircraft, armor, space, Sci-Fi, and fantasy. We will be posting spotlights of our members and learning what got them started and what keeps them going! Take a read, you may find a future mentor, kindred spirit, or friend.
Joshua Van Dyke
Joshua enjoys learning from other builders as well as sharing his experience and tips for model building. He got his start with styrene when he was around 8yrs old with a Monogram Snap-Tite P-40 Warhawk. Today he is our resident 1/48 aircraft snob and lovingly chides folks for not building Gawd preferred subjects (aircraft) in His Gawd scale (1/48)…and while there may possibly be some armor, gundam, and ship kits in his stash; he’ll never admit to it. He’s quick with a smile and lighthearted banter. He’s passionate about building models, being an ambassador for model building, and improving his abilities. You can’t miss him, he’s a zillion feet tall, so when you’re at any of the MVM activities be sure shake his hand and introduce yourself.
Tim (aka As$ortedFl4tware on Discord)
main modeling genre automobile, cars. I especially like building race cars and extreme detailing all my builds by adding plug wires break lines, hoses, electrical wiring etc. I very rarely build a project “box stock” but I don't really purchase a lot of after-market products such as photo etch or 3D printed parts, I make what I need myself …usually. Lately I've been trying to perfect opening up the doors and making perfect hinges and all the modifications that goes with that i.e. door jams etc. My specialty would be NASCAR, that's what set me on the extreme detail path. This club got me to build a plane, 2 actually, and now my
first tank! Lots of fun and learning.
